We are getting married in Portugal, and we would love you there. The ceremony is in Sintra, up in the hills west of Lisbon. The party comes back down to Príncipe Real, Lisbon.

Two places, one day

Married in the hills, dancing in the city

Sintra

A hill town about 28 km west of Lisbon, thick with palaces and forest and, more often than not, a little mist. Trains run from Rossio station in the middle of Lisbon and take roughly 40 minutes.

Reception · evening

Príncipe Real, Lisbon

The leafy neighbourhood just above Bairro Alto. We are putting on a coach back from Sintra so that nobody has to think about trains in good shoes.

We are still signing the paperwork on both venues, so the exact addresses come later. You only need the areas to book somewhere to sleep, and those will not change.

Five years in, and we finally have a date

A bit over five years together, and we are doing this in Portugal. Sintra for the ceremony, Lisbon for the party, and as much of the country either side as you can manage.

Thank you for making the trip. It is a long way to come, and it means a great deal that you are coming.

Come early if you can

May in Lisbon is warm without being unbearable, the evenings run long, and the city is at its best. If you can stretch the trip either side of the wedding, do. We have written down where to stay, how to get in from the airport, and how to get home at 2am, so that the only thing left to plan is which pastéis de nata is the best one.
